Due to the hike in prices of oil and gas continues to rise high day after day; the installation of solar panels is giving many families solace and stability. The sun offers an almost infinite source of energy. No wonder so many people are rushing to install solar panels which convert light energy into electrical energy. Indeed, their popularity is increasing so rapidly that manufacturers of solar panels are having difficulty keeping up with demand. So it may be now difficult for you to grab a one for your home as per your budget demands. But you need not to worry because you can even build solar panels at home. You just need to do is work on some steps and you will be done.
Solar power or energy is very easy to utilize. It just demands some investments at first and then you can keep on saving money for rest of your life. As we know that the electricity demands are increasing day by day, and its getting too difficult to produce such huge demanding electricity, this results in two conclusions. One is that our resources are getting vanished and secondly the prices or rentals for electricity is going higher and higher. This can be over come only be the use of solar panels as the solar energy is all free in nature and every body can generate electricity out of their own homes.
The working of the solar panels is too easy to understand. Actually the solar panels are made up of solar cells usually made up of a semi conducting material like silicon or germanium and even a compound like cupric oxide. When the light from sun falls on the cells; the electrons gets released due to excitation and hence constitute the current. This current then flows then in any wire medium and provides electricity to us. The intensity of current is dependant on the number of solar cells used. More cells will result in more current. The above mentioned cupric oxide can be used when you will build solar panels at home. This is so because of the fact that they are far cheaper then silicon and can conduct as well.
Now you should now about some points regarding installation of the solar panel. The main two points comprise; the facing of the panel or its positioning and secondly the angle at which it is to be fixed. Moreover, it’s clear now from the above discussion, which explains that more the number of photons or sun rays fall on solar cells, more will be the intensity of current flow. Hence you should place your solar panel toward a direction where sun shoots its maximum rays with high intensity. May be a south-west direction may be suitable. Now after you choose the direction you should judge a good angle for your panel. Angle should be as such it will help panel in receiving high number of photons from sun and it’s usually angle that is of the roof.
It’s also important that you should know everything about the panels at first. May be some drawbacks can affect you. So don’t rush to build solar panels at home before ensuring you agree to all its merits and demerits. But it will surely help you and the environment too.
